RoRo (roll-on/roll-off)

Also: RoRo · roll-on roll-off

An ocean method where wheeled or tracked cargo is driven or towed on and off a specialized vessel via a ramp, rather than lifted by crane. RoRo suits self-propelled and rolling equipment — vehicles, loaders, cranes, trailers — avoiding the lift risk and lashing of container or breakbulk moves. Sailings are route- and schedule-specific, so RoRo is a lane question as much as an equipment one.
