LCL (less than container load)

A shipment too small to justify its own container, consolidated with other shippers’ cargo into one box and priced per cubic meter (or revenue ton). LCL is right-sized for small lots, but the per-CBM rate plus fixed destination handling fees means it loses its cost advantage as volume grows — and the extra consolidation and deconsolidation handling adds transit time and touch points.
