ISF (Importer Security Filing)

Also: ISF · 10+2

A US Customs filing — also called "10+2" — that ocean importers must submit at least 24 hours before cargo is loaded onto the vessel abroad. It lists ten data elements from the importer plus two from the carrier. Late, inaccurate or missing ISF filings draw penalties of up to $5,000 per shipment, so the filing is tied to booking data and made early, not at arrival.
