Chassis

The wheeled steel frame a container sits on to be trucked over the road. In much of the US the chassis is rented separately from the container, so a drayage quote carries its own chassis line — daily rate, who supplies it, and any "split" fee when the chassis and container are picked up in different locations. Overweight or specialized loads may need a tri-axle chassis at a higher rate.
