Proper shipping name (PSN)

Also: PSN · proper shipping name

The standardized name a dangerous substance or article must be declared under — not a brand or trade name. It appears with the UN number on the package and the dangerous-goods declaration, e.g. "Lithium ion batteries" for UN3480. Using a marketing name instead of the PSN is one of the most common reasons a DG booking is rejected at acceptance.
