Pulling a container out of the terminal before your delivery appointment and holding it at the trucker’s yard — usually to beat the last free day and stop demurrage, or because an appointment isn’t available in time. It adds a move and a day or two of yard storage, but on a tight free-time window a pre-pull can cost far less than the demurrage it prevents.
